DAY 2 PILLARS OF THE BRIDGE

The EduBridge that we are going to build needs strong and stable pillars, and pillars to be strong and stable need good foundation - and this is what we have been given today.

Denise and Susan gave us a lot of background information and guidelines about what the knowledge and skills that we are going to aquire are based on.

Actually, before that they made us all jump! But the camera person was to surprised to take pictures (she jumped along;)

They certainly got our attention.

We were wondering what makes it so difficult for teachers to make their classes truly student friendly....

Maybe we are too comfortable to change our classroom environment?
Maybe we are afraid of losing control?
Is it the testing-based system that makes us do it?
Are we not motivated enough?
Are we getting enough support and help?.

Learning to build our own empire (testing fun activities - they worked for us)

A FEW THINGS TO PONDER UPON AFER TODAY'S SESSION:

  • The power of one (YOU CAN START A REVOLUTION!)
  • Teamwork. Why is it important? Why is it good to know the personality of other people on your team.
  • The value of knowledge: Is our society being divided into smart (those with university level education) and nonsmart (those with vocational training) people?

  1. When I was thinking about building bridges, I didn't think about the pillars .... which after today seems to be the BASIC FUNDAMENT.

The concept of the bridge is changing, and the change is coming with the fresh, new and excited point of view from people representing diverse Europe.

For me the words for today is awareness of 'putting down my shields' and how it change me, my surroundings and 'the bridge'.
